Agartala, 8th November 2023: A dead body was recovered near the headquarters of the 8th battalion of TSR in Lalcherra area under Longtharai Valley subdivision on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Subiram Debbarma (50), son of late Subhachandra Debbarma, a resident of Karaticherra under Dhumacherra police station.
According to the locals, Subiram used to wander around Lalcherra area frequently and was often in a state of intoxication. He lived a vagabond life, eating at random houses and sleeping on the streets.
On Wednesday, around 7 am, some people saw his lifeless body lying on a rest vehicle in front of the TSR headquarters. They informed the police, who reached the spot and took the body to Chailengta subdivisional hospital for postmortem. It is learnt that the deceased had two sons.
