Dead Body recovered in School grounds at Bishalgarh

Agartala, 30th June 2025:   Tension gripped East Gokulnagar under Sepahijala district after the body of a youth was found early morning of Monday in the premises of the East Gokulnagar Class XII School. The presence of the deceased on school grounds caused considerable distress among students, teachers and guardians as the news spread rapidly through the area.

Responding swiftly, Bishalgarh Police Station staff recovered the body and shifted it to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.

The deceased has been identified as Manindra Debnath, a resident of Gokulnagar. According to local sources, Mithun had been suffering from mental illness for an extended period and was often seen wandering the area. The family’s home is located adjacent to the school, raising concerns about how the incident unfolded unnoticed.

Neighbors confirmed that Manindra lived with his stepmother and brother. Facing acute financial hardship, the family was supported in the cremation process by school headmaster Chinmoy Majumdar and Officer-in-Charge of Bishalgarh Police Station, Sanjit Sen, who offered assistance during the family’s time of grief.Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
