Agartala, 10th October 2026 : The recovery of an 87-year-old man’s body near a fishery at Dasharam Para under Singirbil ADC Village in the Chandipur Assembly constituency triggered a sensation in the area on Saturday. Police identified the deceased as Radhakanta Das, son of Rajkumar Das, a resident of Ward No. 1 in the Kuleshnagar area of Gokulnagar under the Fatikroy assembly constituency.
According to sources, local residents spotted the body while collecting firewood in a nearby forest and informed the police. Personnel from Kailashahar Police Station and a forensic team subsequently visited the spot and initiated a preliminary investigation.
The body was found lying face down on the bank of the fishery, around 10 kilometres from Kailashahar town. The cause of death remains unknown, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The body will be sent to the district hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
