Agartala, 8th October 22: Hanging body of a young woman was recovered from a flat in Chandrapur of Agartala. The name of the deceased is Pritha Debnath, aged 27 years. It is known that Pritha was adopted by Dr. Shaktipada Debnath and Manisha Bhowmik. They had a house on Jail Ashram Road and later they sold it and shifted to Barasat of West Bengal 5 years back.
The girl Pritha came in Tripura on last May. After completing Master’s Degree in Fashion Designing came to Tripura to do business. Pritha bought a flat in Chandrapur.
The parents said that a shop had already opened in Khayerpur. They last spoke to their daughter over phone on October 4 and on 5th received an SMS on 5th October. Dr. Shaktipad Debnath and Manisha Bhowmik could not be contacted her since then.
They were forced to come in Tripura on Saturday and when they broke the door and entered found Pritha’s hanging body. Information was given to the East Agartala Women police station. The police assumed that Pritha had died many days ago. The police said it was case of suicide without any investigation. But no one could make it clear why this happened. Meanwhile, Pritha’s family claims that she cannot commit suicide.
