Agartala, May 29, 2023: A devastating fire gutted an entire house and more pathetic is that a woman was burnt to ashes at Master Para area in Santirbazar city on Monday.
It is reported that a fire broke out at the residence of Mohan Debnath at around 11:10 AM in the Master Para of Santirbazar Municipal Council. In connection with this fire, Mohan Debnath’s house was gutted in a devastating fire. A housewife in the house was burnt to ashes in this fire.
It is learned that this devastating fire took place due to the bursting of 2 gas cylinders in the house. The name of the housewife who was burnt to ashes in this fire is Monika Debnath Bhowmik (34). Her husband Pulak Bhowmik is a working in 9th battalion of TSR. They live in the house of Mohan Debnath, who is a member of the family. Their house is in West Pilak area of Jolaibari.
It is also learned that the husband of the housewife went to mother’s house with his family members in Udaipur. The accident took place when the housewife was alone at home.
After receiving the information about the accident, the fire brigade personnel and Santirbazar police reached the spot. Firefighters reached the spot and brought the fire under control, but the housewife and the house could not be saved.
It is further learned that due to the narrowing of the road in Master Para area of Santirbazar sub-division, the fire tender has been delayed.
There is also a shortage of water in this area. Water shortage has arisen as the people of the area fill the ponds and build houses. The local residents demand that the road in the area should be paved in such accidents so that no more housewives and people lose their lives prematurely.
The mortal remains of the housewife will be handed over to the family members after the autopsy. The housewife’s unusual death has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire area.
