Agartala, 27th March 2025:   Devotees participated in the sacred tradition of bathing in the Varuni River on the Krishna Trayodashi Tithi of the Chaitra month across the state today. This ritual is deeply rooted in Hindu scriptures and is believed to yield the same spiritual merit as bathing in the Ganges for hundreds of solar eclipses. Devotees seek to cleanse their sins and attain virtue through this holy practice.

Notably, when Shatabhisha Nakshatra aligns with Krishna Trayodashi Tithi, the occasion becomes known as Varuni—linked to the Ganges, or Varuni, the Himalayan daughter. Bathing on this day is said to bestow immense spiritual merit.

Since early morning, the Howrah River near Pratapgarh Ram Thakur School witnessed devotees offering pindas to ancestors alongside their sacred baths, underscoring the fervor and devotion surrounding this auspicious event.
