Agartala, June 6, 2023: The ‘World Environment Day’ was celebrated at Churaibari Higher Secondary School under the initiative of Sub-Divisional Legal Service Committee, Dharmanagar in North Tripura district.
School teacher Asit Chandra Nath was the president of the event, Rimpi Rani Chakraborty was the lawyer. Besides, other teachers PLV Sanjib Barua and Rajashekhar Bhattacharya were present. First the ceremony starts with pouring water on the tree and opening music.
Speakers discussed “Every year, June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated. This celebration is to discuss the damage to the environment and how it can be preserved. In 1972, at the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment, June 5 was chosen as World Environment Day. World Environment Day was celebrated for the first time in 1973. Slogan, ‘Only One Earth.’ Due to the emission of various types of harmful gases and the release of a large amount of harmful chemicals, the temperature of the earth is increasing day by day.”
“At the same time, the earth’s atmosphere and climate are changing. The day inspires people to take a pledge to stop or stop things that are harmful to the earth”, they added.
In the event, plays, recitations, quizzes and essay competitions were held on the environment. Finally, 20 saplings were planted at different ends of the school.
