Agartala, 24th March 2025: The Directorate of Employment Services & Manpower Planning has released details regarding the budget allocation and expenditure for the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25. The findings reveal significant unspent amounts in both salary and non-salary components.
For the fiscal year 2023-24, the state government allocated Rs 681.00 lakh for salary and Rs 150.54 lakh for non-salary expenses. However, Rs 53.62 lakh in salary funds and Rs 29.41 lakh in non-salary funds remained unutilized.
In the current fiscal year 2024-25, up to February 28, 2025, Rs 731.98 lakh and Rs 102.77 lakh were allocated for salary and non-salary expenses, respectively. Of this, Rs 63.13 lakh in salary funds and Rs 38.50 lakh in non-salary funds remain unspent.
Additionally, the department was unable to fully utilize central project funds during this period. Unspent amounts totaled Rs 15.14 lakh in 2023-24 and Rs 10.36 lakh as of February 28, 2025, for the ongoing fiscal year.
Minister in-charge of the Employment Services and Manpower Planning department Tinku Roy informed this in a written reply on the second day of assembly’s budget session.
