Agartala, 2nd December 2025 :  A significant discussion meeting on the human rights situation of Bangladesh’s minority communities, in light of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord was held at the Agartala Press Club today. The event was organized by Campaign for Humanity Protection as part of its ongoing advocacy for safeguarding human rights.

The meeting chaired by Niranjan Chakma brought together prominent voices in the field. Human rights expert Dr. Chandrasekhar Kar attended as the chief guest, while Dr. Shyamal Chakma addressed the gathering as an honored speaker. Among others present were Vice President Nayan Jyoti Tripura and former Vice Chairman and noted social worker Bipangshu Chakma.

Speakers highlighted that, despite the Peace Accord being signed many years ago, minority communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts continue to face pressing challenges. These include land dispossession, insecurity, and lack of access to education and healthcare. They stressed that the international community must play a more active role in addressing these issues and ensuring proper investigation into human rights violations.

The guests collectively called for building a broader movement to protect humanity and announced plans for future awareness programs aimed at amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
