Agartala Aug 04: The temporary stand of CNG bus drivers outside the capital city’s Nagerjala bus stand has resulted into intense anger among the drivers of the Nagerjla bus stand. Reportedly, earlier when urban buses used to stop and pick up passengers in Battala area, the matter was reported to the District Magistrate in detail. Thereafter the buses provided passenger services from Nagerjala stand for a few days based on the instructions of the District Magistrate.
But recently those bus drivers are providing passenger services by constructing a temporary stand outside Nagerjala stand. As a result, the bus drivers of Nagerjala stand are facing huge losses. When their issue was reported to the previous DM, he issued a notice saying that no passenger vehicle can be parked in Battala area. That statement was shown to the present District Magistrate.
The present District Magistrate also ordered that no vehicle can be parked in Battala area. Parking can be done only inside the stand. For few days everything went well according to the instructions of the District Magistrate. Traffic police did not allow vehicle drivers to park in Battala area. But since Thursday morning it is heard that the traffic SP has allowed urban passenger buses to stop for five minutes at Battala area. Therefore, the bus drivers of Nagerjala bus stand have decided that if the traffic SP does not withdraw the order, all the buses of Nagerjala bus stand will stop at Battala area and start providing passenger services from July 5. For this, the bus drivers of Nagerjala have given a 24-hour deadline to the minister and the district administration.
