The Video Conference (VC) meeting was held at 10:30 AM on June 4 at the VC Hall of the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector, Khowai, under the chairmanship of the District Programme Coordinator and District Magistrate & Collector of Khowai District.
During the meeting, officials reviewed several key aspects of MGNREGA implementation, including the enhancement of Material MIS liabilities, increasing expenditure against the allocated material fund, and accelerating the generation of mandays under the flagship rural employment programme.
The district administration stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all implementing agencies to ensure the timely execution of development works and the effective utilization of available resources. Officials emphasized that strengthening MGNREGA implementation remains crucial for enhancing rural livelihoods, creating sustainable employment opportunities, and supporting the socio-economic development of rural communities across Khowai district.
The review assumes significance in the backdrop of the recent demands raised by MGNREGA workers regarding service regularization and employment-related benefits. The administration reiterated its commitment to improving programme performance and achieving the targets set under the rural employment scheme through efficient planning and execution.
