District-level field trainers’ programme on houselisting census begins

Date:

Agartala, 1st June 2026:   A three-day District Level Field Trainers Training (Phase-1) on Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO) commenced on Monday at the Mini Conference Hall of Sonar Tari State Guest House.

The training programme, scheduled from June 1 to June 3, 2026, aims to equip District Level Field Trainers with the essential knowledge, technical skills, and operational guidelines required for the effective conduct of the Houselisting and Housing Census.

Officials said the sessions will focus on key aspects such as census methodology, data collection procedures, field-level operations, and measures to ensure accuracy and quality in enumeration. Emphasis is also being placed on standardised practices to maintain consistency across the data collection process.

The initiative forms a crucial part of the preparatory framework for the upcoming Census exercise, ensuring that field-level trainers are well-prepared to guide enumerators and supervise activities efficiently.

Authorities highlighted that strengthening the capacity of field functionaries is vital for conducting a reliable and comprehensive census, which serves as the backbone for policy planning and developmental initiatives.

The training is being held at the Mini Conference Hall of Sonar Tari State Guest House and will continue till June 3.
