Agartala:, 12th June 2026: District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar, IAS, on Friday visited Santiniketan Medical College and initiated a detailed inquiry into the unnatural death of 24-year-old former employee Manisha Das.
Acting on the directives of the Home Department, the District Magistrate personally examined the circumstances surrounding the incident on the first day of the investigation. He reviewed available information and interacted with officials and other concerned stakeholders to gather preliminary details related to the case.
During the visit, Dr. Vishal Kumar also met the bereaved family members of the deceased and conveyed his condolences. He assured them that the investigation would be carried out in a fair, transparent, and impartial manner.
Officials said the inquiry is currently at a preliminary stage and will continue comprehensively to establish all facts and circumstances connected with the incident.
The district administration has reiterated its commitment to conducting an objective and lawful investigation to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined.
