Agartala, 7th December 2023: G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of DoNER written a letter to the MP and Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik informing her that Thematic Galleries and Planetarium has been approved to be set up in her constituency Agartala at a total cost of Rs.40 Crore. Bhoumik is also an MP from West Lok Sabha Constituency in Tripura.
“You may be glad to know that Ministry of Culture, Government of India has a unique scheme called ‘Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science (SPOCS) under which based on the requests from different State overnments/UTs, Science Cities/Centres/Digital Planetarium & Innovation Hubs in Science Centres etc. are set up with joint funding of Government of India and States, UT Govt. I am further pleased to inform that under this Scheme, development of Thematic Galleries and Planetarium has been approved to be set up in the State of Tripura and in your constituency i.e. Agartala at a total cost of Rs.40 Crore (Central and State Govt. share being Rs. 36 Cr. and Rs. 4 Cr. respectively)”, the letter of Reddy reads.
