Agartala, 18th February 2025: Government will now be able to measure land with greater accuracy using drones, said Mayor Dipak Majumdar at the inauguration of the Naksha City Survey Project through Drones at the Agartala Municipal Corporation Conference Hall.
The initiative, launched on Saturday, is a joint effort between the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the Tripura Government. The inauguration ceremony was graced by several prominent dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and MLA Ramprasad Pal, Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, and other distinguished guests.
The Naksha project, announced by the Ministry of Rural Development Department and the Land Resources Department of the Government of India, aims to determine land locations using drone technology in 152 cities across the country. Agartala has been included in this advanced central government initiative, marking a significant technological advancement in urban planning and land measurement.
For the first time, drones will be used to measure the land of residential properties in Agartala city. Mayor Dipak Majumdar emphasized that this initiative will ensure accurate land measurements, which will help in resolving land-related disputes and provide clarity on property boundaries.
“This project will bring multiple benefits to city residents. Accurate measurements will reduce land-related complications and ensure smoother governance in land management,” said Mayor Majumdar.
The introduction of drone technology in land surveying is expected to enhance urban planning and improve land administration in Agartala, setting a benchmark for other cities under the Naksha project. The initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing land records and governance, ensuring transparency and efficiency in property-related matters.
