Agartala, August 05, 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Friday inaugurated mobile planetarium at Bishramganj Higher Secondary School in presence of Science and Technology department’s secretary PK Chakraborty and additional secretary Animesh Das, Bishalgarh SDM Binoy Bhushan Das, Deputy Secretary B Chakraborty and others. School Headmaster Ajit Das presided over the programme.
Addressing the ceremony, Dev Varma said “An initiative has been taken to make the students of the state science-minded. The government has taken various programs to increase the interest of students towards science. Mobile planetarium are being arranged in all the districts of the state to increase the enthusiasm of students about space.”
It is noteworthy to mention here that this planetarium will be displayed in various schools of the district. In the school classroom, this mobile planetarium will help students explore space, planets, satellites and galaxies. Rs 8 lakh were spent on the construction of this mobile planetarium.
The Deputy Chief Minister also said that the present age is the age of science so students should also be science-minded. He said that the government has taken various steps to develop education in the state and extension of quality education to marginalized areas has also been prioritized.
