Agartala, 13th July 2025:   Amid growing concerns over unemployment in India, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organized a day-long workshop at the Chhatra-Yuva Bhavan here demanding urgent measures to combat joblessness and protesting what they called an unprecedented rise in unemployment under the current BJP-led government.

The workshop saw participation from unemployed youth across the region, who voiced their struggles and pledged unified action to demand employment opportunities. DYFI’s all-India Secretary, Himagna Raj Bhattacharjee addressed the gathering and sharply criticized the Narendra Modi government.

“Since independence, it is under the present Modi-led regime that unemployment has peaked like never before,” Bhattacharjee said. He highlighted the urgency of mobilizing collective resistance: “There’s no alternative but to take to the streets. We must fight back to secure employment rights for the youth.”

He called for a mass movement to address what he described as a deepening crisis among the younger generation: “This government has failed the youth. DYFI will continue its relentless struggle until employment generation becomes a priority.”

Participants in the workshop shared personal accounts of economic hardship and pledged to intensify their fight for employment. The event concluded with a collective resolution to escalate the movement and amplify demands for job creation.
