Agartala, 1st November 2026 : The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organised a blood donation camp at Chhatra Yuva Bhavan on Sunday to mark the organisation’s 47th foundation day. The programme was organised by the DYFI Jirania Sub-Divisional Committee.
Former minister and CPI(M) leader Manik Dey, tribal leader Radhacharan Debbarma and other dignitaries were present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Manik Dey said that organising blood donation camps has long been a tradition of DYFI. He appreciated the Jirania Sub-Divisional Committee for taking the initiative to organise the camp.
Dey alleged that people in the Jirania subdivision were unable to move around freely and claimed that organising such blood donation programmes in the area had become difficult. He said the camp was therefore organised at Chhatra Yuva Bhavan.
He also highlighted DYFI’s role in the struggle to protect democracy, emphasising the organisation’s continued involvement in social initiatives and democratic movements.
The blood donation camp was organised as part of the foundation day observance, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility.
