Education department’s Special Secretary Raval Hamendra Kumar applauded Exhibition on Puppetry

Agartala, 17th August 2024:   The 2-days workshop on Role of Puppetry in Education in Line with NEP-2020 concluded on Saturday where a total of 100 participants participated from West, Sepahijala, Gomati and Khowai District.

The participants are pre-primary teachers or FLN teachers and academic leaders. The main motto of the workshop is to train the teachers about preparation of various Puppets and their use in classroom scenario maintaining close proximity with the curriculum.

The participants forming twenty groups today prepared different types of puppets like finger puppets, stick puppets, shadow puppets etc. and demonstrated the use of their puppets in front of others. In the valedictory session of today’s workshop Special Secretary of Education Raval Hamendra Kumar attended the program along with the Director, School Education N.C. Sharma, Joint Director Elementary Education Harshita Biswas and Branch Officer of Pre-primary cell cum NIPUN Tripura cell Abhijit Samajpati. The dignitaries visited the exhibition arranged by the participants to showcase their hand-made puppets in best way.

Special secretary was very much pleased to see the teachers participation and the effort they have been made to prepare their best puppets. He mentioned that NEP-2020 provides us many scope to renovate our education system, now we just have to adapt with the changes to make it effective in all respect.

As activity based learning system was prioritizes in NEP-2020, so the use of teaching learning materials should be more in classrooms. Here puppets are one of the best types of teaching learning material. Teachers just have to use it in appropriate way. The other dignitaries were also very much pleased with the total arrangement.

Next the academic leaders will train the teachers from remaining districts. In the end part of valedictory session resource persons were honoured by presentation of mementos. The resource persons and two representatives of participants shared their experiences about the workshop.

In near future more such type of trainings, workshops will be arranged to ensure the right of activity based learning of FLN grade students.
