Agartala: February 05. The election for Chairman and Vice Chairman Posts of Bar Council of Tripura held today in which Ratan Datta has elected as the chairman from BJP penal.
Speaking with reporters, senior advocate Ratan Datta said that the tenure of P K Dhar concluded today and election held today.
“The notification for the election was declared on January 05. Submission of nomination papers was January 24 and on January 27 scrutiny held and withdrawal held on February 03 while election held on February 05”, he said.
He said there were two candidates for the posts of chairman including Datta and B N Majumder while the vice chairman Kakali Deb elected uncontested.
Datta said out of 15 elected member one member who is Pijush Kanti Biswas was absent. Among these 9 were BJP penal and 5 were CPIM. Datta received 8 votes out of nine and became chairman and B N Majumder received 6 votes.
