Agartala, 29th May 2025:  Electricity workers under Vision Plus have once again pressed for their four-point demands, including the payment of overdue salaries, the abolition of outsourcing, and direct employment under the Electricity Department. In a show of solidarity, they joined a deputation to the deputy director of the power department today, seeking urgent redressal.

Speaking on behalf of the group, a worker said that nearly 600 employees have been working under Vision Plus, a subsidiary of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited, for the past five years. “We were promised annual salary increments, yet for five years, there has been no raise. We are surviving on minimum wages,” he lamented.

The workers further alleged that they have not received their salaries for the past six months, causing financial distress. When they approached company officials, they were informed that the dues were pending due to delays from the power department itself. “Our arrears are not being cleared, and we have no choice but to protest,” another worker stated.

Their primary demands include the immediate clearance of unpaid salaries, the abolition of the outsourcing system, direct employment under the Electricity Department, and the inclusion of their wages under labor laws.
