Agartala, 29th May 2025: Teliamura MLA and Assembly’s Chief Whip Kalyani Roy today reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to public service during a visit to the dilapidated Hospital Road, one of the busiest and most critical roads in the town.
“Elected by the people and for the people, serving the people is my ultimate religion. I want to work for the people of Teliamura and the common people till the end of my life,” said Kalyani Roy while speaking to the media personnel during her inspection today.
Highlighting the urgency of the matter, she said, “Hospital Road is the lifeline of Teliamura. Fire engines, the BDO office staff, and thousands of college students use it daily. Most importantly, patients and pregnant mothers are forced to travel on this broken stretch every single day.”
Roy expressed deep frustration over the condition of the road, noting that despite repeated discussions with NHIDCL officials and the subcontractors, no real progress had been made.
“I have spoken to NHIDCL and subcontractor officials several times. They assured me the work would be done, and later they even claimed it was completed. So today, I personally came with the subcontractor’s manager to verify the truth.”
During her inspection, Roy emphasized that such indifference to public suffering is unacceptable and demanded urgent action to restore the road for the safety and convenience of the people.
