Agartala, 12th January 2026: In a bid to support underprivileged families, Kamal Kalai, Executive Member for Health, Tribal Welfare and Tourism in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), has initiated a large-scale distribution program across his 11 Maharanpur-Teliamura constituency.
Sources informed that the initiative aims to ease the ongoing water management crisis by providing water storage tanks in several hamlets. Alongside this, tins and blankets have been distributed to poor families in the Mungiakami block. To promote road safety among youth, 50 helmets were handed out to local bikers and youngsters.
Out of the targeted 60 families, 20 have already received tins for house construction. The program is being carried out continuously, with a goal of distributing 2,000 blankets to needy and deprived families in the constituency. Officials expect all targeted social facilities determined by the TTAADC administration to be completed within the coming days.
Villagers expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting that the support from the TTAADC administration has brought cheer and relief to many households. The distribution drive has been widely appreciated as a philanthropic effort aimed at improving living conditions and ensuring safety in the region.
