Empowerment initiatives launched under “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” program

Agartala, August 10, 2023: District-level workshops and “Balika Manch” were inaugurated on Thursday under the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” program, by Social Welfare and Social Education minister Tinku Roy at the Muktdhara Auditorium here on Thursday.

In his address during the event, Minister Tinku Roy highlighted the commitment of the Narendra Modi-led government towards women’s development since its inception, emphasizing its multifaceted approach.

Minister Roy emphasized the government’s endeavor to not only ensure the protection and education of women but also to foster their self-reliance. He commended the government’s measures in this direction, aimed at empowering women across sectors.

Minister commended the nation’s progress and acknowledged the occasional challenges faced. He notably pointed out that despite these challenges, the current government showcases a transparent image, evident in the appointment of a woman as the Finance Minister and a woman as the President.

Turning his attention to the realm of sports, Minister Tinku Roy praised the progressive strides made by the girls of Tripura state, in alignment with the broader advancement across the nation. The event was attended by West District DM Debapriya Bardhan and other prominent administrative figures, reflecting the collective commitment to empower and uplift women in the region.
