‘Esho Ma’ cultural evening marks sixth anniversary of Khowai Cultural Cell

Agartala, 20th September 2025:   To celebrate its sixth anniversary and usher in the spirit of Durga Puja, Khowai Cultural Cell hosted a vibrant cultural programme titled ‘Esho Ma’ at the Old Town Hall on Friday evening.

The event was inaugurated by social worker Binoy Debbarma with Khowai Municipal Council Chairman Debasish Nath Sharma attending as chief guest. They were accompanied by social worker Samir Kumar Das and Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs department, Khowai district Dilip Kumar Debbarma. The programme was chaired by Piyush Kanti Choudhury, Chairman of the Council’s Sports and Culture Committee, while Cultural Cell President Dipankar Bhattacharjee served as convenor.

The evening began with floral tributes and ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Speeches were delivered by the convenor and invited guests, followed by felicitation of local music and dance instructors, elocutionists, instrumentalists, and cultural contributors. Clothes were also distributed among the underprivileged.

The second half featured performances by artists from various music and dance academies across Khowai subdivision. The programme was jointly conducted by cultural activist Sour Pratim Sharma and elocutionist Tama Majumdar.

Held ahead of the festive season, the event infused fresh cultural energy into the town and reaffirmed the Cultural Cell’s commitment to preserving Khowai’s artistic heritage.
