Ex-CM Manik Sarkar visits bereaved family after Ramnagar blast

Agartala, 27th June 2026:  Former Chief Minister and CPI(M) Politburo member Manik Sarkar visited the family of Shubrajit Chowdhury, who tragically lost his life following a massive explosion in a Ramnagar flat.

Two days earlier, Chowdhury had sustained severe injuries in the powerful blast at a residential flat in the Ramnagar-4 area. Despite being rescued and admitted to GB Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday while undergoing treatment.

On Saturday, Sarkar met Chowdhury’s wife, mother, and other relatives at their residence, offering his deepest condolences. Several CPI(M) leaders accompanied him, extending their sympathies to the bereaved family.

Later, Sarkar and the CPI(M) delegation visited the explosion site, interacting with local residents to gather details and assess the extent of the damage.

The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents of Ramnagar. Authorities have already launched an investigation to determine the actual cause of the blast.
