Agartala, 1st January 2025: In its continuous efforts towards reaching out and engagement with ex-servicemen (ESMs), the Spear Corps organised an outreach program at Agartala Military Station. The event facilitated interaction with approximately 450 ESMs, wherein grievances and concerns of ESM were addressed. The event was attended by ESM from Gomti, North, South and West Tripura District, as well as from Unakoti, Dhailai and Khowai district of Tripura.
The outreach program was spread over three days, from 30 December 2024 to 01 January 2025 that was organised to provide a platform for the ESM community to expedite the resolution of various issues pertaining to pension, documentation and other discrepancies. It also facilitated dissemination of information to beneficiaries about latest welfare schemes and policies from higher headquarters and the Government of India.
The event saw a notable attendance of more than 450 Veterans including Veer Naris and widows. Multiple cells were established to resolve the issues faced by ESM. An ECHS cell under trained medical staff was also set up to provide necessary medical aid, health checkup and medicines to ESMs residing in remote villages.
During the event, Station Commander of Agartala military station interacted with all Veterans, Veer Naris and widows and expressed gratitude to the veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices towards the nation and also acknowledged the significant contribution of ESM to nation-building through their valuable experience.
The ESM outreach program stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment for Veterans, Veer Naaris and widows. It embodies the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity that defines the ethos of the Indian Armed Forces.
