Agartala, 20th February 2025: Manughat Indira Nagar Panchayat area of Sabroom subdivision witnessed a violent incident on Thursday at around 6:30 am leaving one individual seriously injured. The victim has been identified as Narayan Biswas was attacked with a sharp weapon due to a family dispute over water in the farmland.
According to Narayan Biswas, four individuals including three women and a man repeatedly assaulted him resulting in severe injuries to his head, legs and hands.
After receiving information about the incident, local police promptly arrived at the scene to control the situation. Narayan Biswas was initially taken to Sabrum Hospital for primary treatment, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was quickly referred to South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar.
An officer at the scene reported, “The police have started an investigation into the incident to understand the full extent of the circumstances and identify the attackers.”
The condition of Narayan Biswas remains critical.
