Agartala, 20th January 2025:   In a chilling road accident, a father and his young son narrowly escaped with minor injuries despite their vehicle being severely damaged. The incident occurred in the Madhupur Godown Chaumuhani area under Madhupur Police Station.

According to details, a car bearing registration number TR 01AL0443 was en route from Kamalasagar Kasba to Jolaibari. The driver, identified as Shankar Banik, along with his family, had visited a temple in Kamalasagar Kasba earlier in the day and was returning home. At the same time, an auto-rickshaw with registration number TR 07A3327, driven by Debashish Debbarma from Madhupur School Chaumuhani area, was heading toward Madhupur Bazaar to take his son for a haircut.

As the two vehicles approached the Madhupur Godown Chaumuhani area, the auto-rickshaw collided directly with the car. The impact threw Debbarma and his young son out of the auto. Fortunately, both escaped with minor injuries. However, the auto-rickshaw was completely destroyed, and the car sustained significant damage.

Police from Madhupur Police Station promptly arrived at the scene, managing traffic and removing the wreckage from the road. Following discussions between the two parties involved, a settlement was reportedly reached, avoiding further complications.

The main road leading to Kamalasagar, which is currently under construction, has been a concern for commuters. The construction work has progressed past Madhupur Hospital Chaumuhani, leading some drivers to inadvertently take alternative routes that are unfamiliar or less secure. This situation has been a contributing factor to frequent accidents in the area. While local police are monitoring the situation closely, more robust measures may be required to prevent such incidents in the future.
