Felicitation ceremony held by 124 Battalion of CRPF

Agartala, 2nd March 2026:  The 124 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today organized a grand felicitation ceremony at its Unit Headquarters in Salbagan to honor its Track and Field team, which recently emerged as the overall champion at the Inter-Zonal Track and Field Competition 2026.

Representing the North East Zone, the team secured the top position during the competition held at Group Center, New Delhi, on February 23–24. The CRPF, comprising more than 240 units and battalions deployed across the country, witnessed spirited participation in eight athletic events including the 100-meter sprint, 4×100-meter relay, 10-kilometer cross-country run, 5-kilometer run, high jump, long jump, shot put, and the 1500-meter race.

Among six zonal teams, the 124 Battalion’s athletes delivered a stellar performance, clinching 11 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals across individual and team categories. The victorious 16-member squad was honored with commendation certificates and celebrated in a befitting manner during the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant Ravish Kumar lauded the athletes, remarking that opportunities to showcase talent on such a platform are rare, and the team had seized the moment with remarkable determination. He emphasized that this triumph marks a historic milestone in the unit’s legacy and should be cherished by every member of the battalion.
