Agartala, 8th December 2025:  Panic spread late Sunday night after a sudden fire broke out at a smoke center in South Charilam Choumuhani Para, under Bishramganj police station. The blaze erupted around 11 pm at the establishment owned by Bapon Shukla Das, quickly engulfing the premises.

Residents first noticed smoke and intense heat before realizing the center was ablaze. They immediately alerted the Fire department. A team from the fire service rushed to the spot and, after prolonged efforts, managed to bring the flames under control.

According to initial estimates, property worth nearly Rs 1.5 lakh was destroyed in the incident. Locals believe the situation could have turned catastrophic had the fire service not arrived on time, as the flames were dangerously close to spreading to an adjacent warehouse.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
