Agartala, 10th  February 2026 :   Panic spread in Haflong area under Dharmanagar police station today after a sudden fire broke out in a rubber plantation near the police reserve.

Reportedly, two workers present in the plantation first noticed the flames and immediately informed the owner over phone. As news of the fire spread, local residents rushed to the spot and made initial attempts to prevent the blaze from spreading. Soon after, the Fire Service was alerted.

A fire engine arrived promptly and, with the combined efforts of firefighters and local residents, the blaze was brought under control. Thanks to their quick action, major damage was avoided, said the plantation owner and locals.

The owner suspects the fire may have been triggered by the careless actions of some children in the vicinity. He urged parents in the area to remain vigilant and ensure greater awareness among youngsters to prevent such incidents in the future.
