Fire destroys smoke house, panic spreads in Chelagangmukh bazaar

Agartala, 4th November 2024:   A devastating fire broke out this morning at the residence of Bhuban Mohan Tripura, located near Chelagangmukh Bazaar. The fire originated in the smoke house of rubber businessman Ratan Das quickly escalated causing widespread panic.

At around 8 am, Bhuban Mohan Tripura noticed a small fire while working in his house. The fire rapidly grew out of control, prompting the immediate response of two fire engines. Despite their efforts, the fire brigade struggled to contain the blaze, necessitating additional support from the Amarpur fire brigade.

After prolonged efforts, the fire was finally brought under control, preventing it from spreading to the nearby Chelagangmukh market. “The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be over 25 lakh rupees,” stated Bhuban Mohan Tripura.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine the source. The incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the need for increased fire safety measures in the area.
