Agartala, 20th July 2025: A devastating fire broke out around 7 AM on Sunday morning, completely gutting a shop located on the Kanchanpur-Jampui road. The shop, owned by local businessman Sajal Ghosh, was reduced to ashes, with all goods destroyed in the blaze.
According to preliminary estimates, the loss incurred is around 20 lakh. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.Responding swiftly, the Kanchanpur Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control after a strenuous effort. While the prompt response prevented the fire from spreading to nearby establishments, it could not save the shop itself.
“The fire brigade’s timely action helped avert a much bigger disaster,” said a local resident.
The local administration and police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, businessman Sajal Ghosh is left grappling with the complete loss of his livelihood.
