Agartala, 20th September 2024: Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, Founder of Tipra Motha, announced that the first round of talks regarding the Tiprasa Accord took place in New Delhi.
During the discussions, it was decided that meetings would occur every two months to expedite solutions for the challenges faced by the indigenous people of Tripura.
In a Facebook post, Pradyot shared that the inaugural meeting of the Joint Working Group for the Tiprasa Accord included notable attendees such as B. K. Hrangkhawl, President of the TIPRA Motha Party; A. K. Mishra, Advisor (North-East) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Convenor); Pradip Chakraborty, Secretary of Tripura’s Home Department; Brijesh Pandey, Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department, and others.
He remarked, “Some doubted it would ever happen, but a historic process has begun—this is just the beginning! The first round of dialogue on the Tiprasa Accord has been conducted with officials from the Home Ministry and the state government. We discussed all relevant points in detail and agreed to meet every two months to tackle the issues faced by our Tiprasa community. Today, we spoke as a community, not just as a party. I will continue to work towards ensuring dignity and a better future for our people.”
