Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das conducts comprehensive review meeting at Belonia

Agartala, December 19: Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das visited Belonia and presided over a crucial review meeting at Belonia Circuit House in presence of officials from various departments in the southern district, eight blocks, Panchayat Samitis, Zilla Sabhadipati, officials from the Municipal Council, Nagar Panchayat, and Zilla Parishad. Additionally, MLAs from various constituencies attended the review meeting, which convened around 12 noon.

The focus of the review meeting centered on multiple projects under the SC Welfare Department, including those related to Animal Resources Development and Fisheries. Discussions also addressed identified deficiencies in certain areas.

The meeting delved into the implementation status of projects initiated by the central and state governments in the domains of Animal Resources Development, Fisheries, and SC. These governmental initiatives play a pivotal role in rural economic and social development, and Minister Sudhangshu Das emphasized the importance of ensuring their effective delivery to the people.

Accompanying Minister Das in the meeting were officers from the Fisheries Department, including Santosh Das. He underscored the significance of the second-phase review meeting, specifically emphasizing whether the rural populace is reaping the benefits of government projects, particularly those aimed at enhancing economic standards in rural areas.

The minister articulated a commitment to swiftly addressing shortcomings and ensuring prompt outreach to the people. He emphasized that decision-making is not confined to the confines of government offices; the primary task is to connect with the common people and assess the impact of these initiatives at the grassroots level.
