Agartala, 5th March 2026 : In a horrific incident, five youths have been arrested for allegedly abducting and gang-raping a 16-year-old girl. The arrests were made by the Baijal Bari Police Station on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baijal Bari Police Station, Jugal Tripura, the victim’s parents filed a complaint at the station on Thursday at around 11:00 AM. They stated that on Wednesday night around 9:00 PM, five youths called their 16-year-old daughter out of her house and forcibly took her away.
The accused then took the minor to a rubber garden behind Labanya Choudhuripara School, where they allegedly gang-raped her.
The five accused have been identified as Bishal Deb Barma (24), Ilens Deb Barma (22), Bapi Deb Barma (23), Khachang Deb Barma (22), and Tusar Deb Barma (24). All of them are residents of the Hatimara area.
Acting on the parents’ complaint, police from Baijal Bari Police Station arrested the five accused on Thursday afternoon. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
