Five injured, one killed in road rage

Agartala, 18th February 2024:  In a tragic road accident, a woman lost her life, and five others sustained injuries when two cars collided head-on near Bagma, Karaimura area in Udaipur today.

The deceased has been identified as Debadrita Choudhury (28), who was returning home with her husband, Aditya Saha, after worshipping at the Tripureshwari Temple in their car. Another car, carrying Laxmi Saha and the driver Samir Roy, was approaching from the opposite direction. The collision occurred in the Bagma, Karaimura area. Two more individuals, identified as Utpal Saha (28) and Rana Sutradhar (33), were also injured in the accident.

According to the police, the incident transpired as Choudhury’s car, bearing registration number TR-O1AW-0524, collided with the other car with registration number TR-0BX-0793, which was heading towards Agartala.

The victims were initially taken to Gomati District Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Choudhury dead. The other three injured individuals were promptly referred to Agartala for further treatment, while the remaining two were shifted to Bishramganj hospital.

The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Additionally, the vehicles involved have been seized for inspection.
