Five Thieves Held in Agartala Gold Chain Theft Case

Agartala, 30th April 2026:  In a recent surge of theft incidents in Agartala city, West Agartala Police have successfully solved a burglary case and arrested five individuals involved in the crime.

The case was registered at West Agartala Police Station by a complainant named Shyamal Das, who reported the theft of a gold chain along with cash from his possession.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, police detained three suspects identified as Sajal Sarkar, Surjit Debnath, and Shibu Saha. During interrogation, the trio reportedly revealed the involvement of two key masterminds behind the crime, Sayan Sarkar of Rajnagar and Sohel Miah of Joypur.

Following their leads, police arrested both Sayan Sarkar and Sohel Miah early Thursday morning from the Border Golchakkar area. The stolen gold chain was also recovered during the operation.

Police officials stated that further interrogation is underway, and more details along with possible additional suspects may come to light. West Agartala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee confirmed the developments and said the investigation is ongoing.
