Agartala, 19th August 2026 : State Forest Department observed the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur with a tribute-paying ceremony attended by Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, senior officials, officers and staff.
The minister paid homage to the former Maharaja and recalled his significant contributions to Tripura’s development, particularly in education, culture, architecture and public welfare.
As part of the programme, the department also organised a tree plantation drive. Minister Debbarma, along with officials, participated in the plantation activity and highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and expanding green cover.
The Forest Department said the initiative was aimed not only at commemorating Maharaja Bir Bikram’s legacy but also at reinforcing the message of environmental conservation and contributing to the vision of a “Green Tripura.”
