Former Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik inaugurates training programme at College of Fisheries, Tripura

Agartala, 22nd October 2024:  A 3-day training programme on “Optimizing Fish Production in Small Ponds: Best Management Practices,” sponsored by ICAR-DCFR, was inaugurated at the College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura.

The event was graced by Pratima Bhoumik, former Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment as the Chief Guest.

Dr. P. K. Pandey, Director of ICAR-DCFR, addressed the participants. Prof. A. B. Patel, Dean of the College, welcomed all. He also acknowledged the support and guidance received from Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of CAU, Imphal.

MoS Bhoumik emphasized the role of natural farming and its alignment with sustainable fish farming, urging farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices that ensure long-term productivity and environmental health.

The event also included the distribution of inputs to farmers and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. A. D. Upadhyay & Dr. Sampa Baidya coordinated the programme.
