Agartala: December 16. Tripura Police has arrested four persons and seized cannabis worth Rs 4 lakh from Teliamura under Khowai district. The incident took place on Friday morning near Hawai Bari Naka Point under Teliamura police station.
Teliamura police station SI Ranabrata Ghosh said that the police have received a tip off that an auto vehicle was coming from Agartala towards Teliamura along the Assam-Agartala national highway carrying packets of cannabis.
“When we received the tip off, we set up a naka point and intercepted the auto at Hawai Bari Naka Point. When we searched the auto we have recovered a total of 40 kg of cannabis in 7 packets. Three men and one woman were arrested”, police said.Police further said that the black market value of the seized cannabis will be around Rs 4 lakh.
