Agartala, 21st September 2025 : Four BJP workers, including BJP ST Morcha vice president Mangal Debbarma, and a journalist were injured after Tipra Motha supporters allegedly attacked a cloth distribution program at Hezamara in West Tripura.
BJP leader Bipin Debbarma termed the attack “unfortunate,” saying the program was social, not political. Mangal Debbarma, who sustained head injuries, accused Tipra Motha of resorting to violence due to “losing ground.”
Former CM and MP Biplab Kumar Deb visited the victims at GB Pant Hospital, directed police to file an FIR, and called for strict action. He said he also spoke with Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya regarding the incident.
