Agartala, March 13: A student of class V was seriously injured in a locally made bomb blast in premises of Nagar High School under Kalsimura Gram Panchayat on Wednesday noon.

It is reported that Taifur Rahman, son of Muslem Mia of the Kalsimura Gram Panchayat found a bag in an abandoned toilet of the Nagar High School at 12 noon. Opening the bag, he found five large-size bombs. Taking one of them on his own hand, he threw them on the ground and it exploded with a loud noise. With the blast, he sustained grievous injuries on his whole body.

Hearing the noise of bomb blast, teachers of Nagar High School rushed to the spot and shouted for help. At once, the local people of the area arrived at the spot and Taifur’s family members also reached. The student was immediately shifted to Boxanagar Primary Health Centre. The doctor on-duty referred him to GBP Hospital after giving him first aid treatment.

On the other hand, Kalamchoura police station staff reached the spot and started investigation. Bomb squad also reached the school premises. There were five bombs while one exploded.

The Upa-Pradhan of Kalsimura Gram Panchayat Giyas Uddin accused the opposition political parties’ hooligans for placing this bombs in the abandoned toilet with the intention to explode them after their victory in March 02 upon BJP supporters’ houses. But fate did not support them. And maybe that’s why these bombs were left in this old school building’s abandoned toilet in the dark of night.

He also said that this student narrowly escaped. It could have been a bigger incident. If all the bombs had exploded together, many students of the school would have been injured.

Now it is to be seen what action the police take against those who are involved in this incident.
