Agartala, 22nd May 2024 : The state top referral healthcare institution GB Hospital, known for its healthcare services experienced a security breach even during daylight hours. On Wednesday, a thief managed to break into the hospital’s family planning center, raising concerns about safety protocols within the premises.
Around noon, when the hospital was bustling with patients, the unidentified thief infiltrated the family planning center. The stolen items reportedly included components from the hospital’s air conditioning system. The incident came to light when hospital staff noticed the broken locks on two doors leading to the center.
Shobha Das, the in-charge of the family planning center described the chaotic scene. Upon entering the room, Das found the disarray caused by the intruder. Additionally, Das observed a young man heading toward the ward master’s office. Authorities were promptly notified about the theft.
The incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of security measures at GB Hospital. Despite the presence of security guards, the theft occurred, leaving health workers and patients’ families alarmed.
Hospital administrators are now under pressure to enhance security protocols and prevent similar incidents in the future. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are determined to apprehend the culprit responsible for this audacious act within the hospital premises.
