Gokulnagar: Bold theft in two houses, roosters & sacks of rice stolen

Agartala, 4th February 2025:   In a bold theft late last night, a gang of thieves targeted the house of Bipul Chowdhury in the Gokulnagar area shortly after a similar incident at TSR Jawan’s residence. The thieves looted two houses making off with approximately 25 local roosters, rice and other items produced on the land.

The theft was found this morning leaving householder Bipul Chowdhury and his wife in tears. Neighbours quickly gathered at the scene and the police were called to investigate. A case has been registered with the Bishalgarh police station and authorities have commenced an investigation into the incident.

Bipul Chowdhury’s brother Pranesh Chowdhury claimed that some local youths might be involved in the theft. The successive incidents have created an atmosphere of panic in the entire Gokulnagar area, with residents anxious about further thefts.

The locality is now eagerly watching to see how the Bishalgarh police station will respond to these alarming events and whether the culprits will be arrested.
