Agartala: August 28. Food and Civil Supply Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today said that in a significant move towards women’s empowerment, the Tripura government is actively prioritizing the enhancement of women’s social participation and income generation.
He said that since the establishment of the new government in the region, there has been a noticeable surge in efforts to harness the power of women through various self-reliance initiatives, with a particular focus on self-help groups.
“Under the dynamic leadership of the government, the momentum of empowering mothers has been growing steadily. This has been achieved by creating an environment conducive to self-reliance and by capitalizing on the numerous opportunities available for women to excel. One of the prime platforms through which this empowerment is taking place is the expansion of self-help groups, which have witnessed remarkable growth in recent times” he said.
Sushanta said this while addressing, mothers and sisters from various self-help groups convened at the Manikyanagar Gitanjali Community Hall, located within the Boxanagar Assembly Constituency.
