Agartala, 12th December 2024:  The Tripura government has initiated significant measures to develop Betlingchhip, the highest peak in the state, located in the picturesque Jampui Hills of the North District.

During the ongoing Tripura Tourism Promo Fest, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted the untapped potential of Betlingchhip as a prime tourist destination. Speaking on the second day of the festival, the minister praised the scenic beauty of the peak, which offers stunning panoramic views of Mizoram and parts of Tripura.

“Betlingchhip has long been a renowned tourist spot, but its development has been neglected for years. We are now taking concrete steps to enhance its infrastructure and facilities to attract more visitors,” said Minister Chowdhury. He emphasized that with the right upgrades and renovations, the site could significantly boost tourism in the region.

The Jampui Hills, famous for their tranquil ambiance and vibrant orange orchards, served as the venue for the festival’s first phase. Officials are positioning the area as a top choice for nature lovers, adventure enthusiasts, and cultural explorers.

The tourism department has announced plans to enhance connectivity, improve accommodations, and provide modern amenities for visitors at Betlingchhip and other key locations. Detailed proposals are expected to be rolled out in the coming months to ensure the sustainable growth of Tripura’s tourism sector.
