Agartala, 13th June 2025:  Gomati District authorities have announced a comprehensive initiative aimed at accelerating development in tribal areas under the Central Government’s Darthi Abha Jan Jatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janaman. The project scheduled to run from June 15 to June 30, will cover 72 tribal areas and engage seven community development officers to facilitate key services for economically disadvantaged communities.

District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, alongside IS Officer Rinita Saha and Additional District Magistrate Subhash Acharya, emphasized the government’s commitment to bridging economic disparities and ensuring access to essential services. The plan includes provisions for Aadhar cards, Ayushman Bharat health cards, and Krishan cards for eligible beneficiaries.

To improve healthcare access in remote villages, medical teams have been deployed to deliver essential services, while efforts are underway to establish Anganwadi centers where none exist. Additionally, officials have outlined measures to address gaps in infrastructure, including electricity and clean drinking water supplies in underserved tribal regions.

Further highlighting the government’s focus on tribal welfare, District Magistrate Chakma confirmed that dedicated funds have been earmarked for the implementation of these initiatives, ensuring sustained development efforts in Gomati’s tribal communities.
