Government  mulls to declare LN Bari road ‘No Vehicle Zone’ on every Saturday and Sunday

Agartala: May 12. The state government is contemplating to impose ‘No Vehicle Zone’ to roads from Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan till Laxmi Narayan Temple on every Saturday and Sunday from 4Pm to 9PM.

Today, Toursim Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today chaired a meeting and said that to avoid congestion near Ujjayanta Palace for the tourists, the surrounding roads starting from Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan to Laxminaryan Temple will be ‘No Vehicle Zone’ on every Saturday and Sunday from 4Pm to 9PM.

Apart from this, various plans have been taken by the tourism department for the major development of the tourist hub at that place.

This afternoon Minster Chowdhury chaired a meeting regarding this matter in the presence of senior officers of the administration in his office room at the Secretariat.

The meeting was attended by others, Municipal Commissioner of AMC Dr. Shailes Kumar Yadav, Tripura Government Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Tripura Police Inspector General (Law and Order) Soumitra Dhar, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited Managing Director Tapan Kumar Das, Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, West District Additional District Magistrate Rajib Dutta, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sadar Division Arup Dev, West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, Superintendent of Traffic Police Rothlunga Darlong and others.
